What We're About

Our Mission is to Support, Empower and Engage Foster & Adoptive Parents
and the Children in their care
.

We collaborate with local and national child welfare agencies and organizations, government agencies and the local business community on existing programs and initiatives.  In addition, we strive to identify the unmet or underserved needs in the South Florida child welfare community and respond with innovative programs and family focused solutions.  Our philosophy is simple "to work in collaboration with the current child welfare system to facilitate positive changes and provide the best opportunity for success for foster and adoptive families and the children in their care".

What Parent's Are Saying About Us...

“No longer did I feel like a single parent struggling without a support system.  The individuals I have met at the support group meetings have been amazing.  My fears of being a first time mom continue to decrease as I form a network of supportive friends like you and the other members.  Thank you for touching my life and the life of so many needy children. “Sincerely, Y Jenkins, Foster Parent

“When we attend the FCACS meetings, we get great educational presentations with a big bonus…  Opportunities to get into the “nitty-gritty” of parenting our special needs children with other parents.  We get insight and support from others who have actually been in our shoes and have dealt with the same struggles we face on a 24/7 basis.  We share ideas, frustrations, solutions, and joys!  We are very grateful that Rosa has created this space for us.  We no longer feel so alone.  I always know that I can call FCACS to get direction on resources – if Rosa doesn’t know, she does the research and finds the answer.” Thank you!!!  -K & D LeFever, Foster/Pre-Adoptive Parents

“I began attending the support meetings with Foster Care & Adoption Community Solutions a few months ago. Rosa as well as other foster and adoptive parents has been a wealth of support for a truly overwhelming process of adoption.  During the first meeting my husband and I attended l sat across from a women who sobbed as she shared a difficult time that she was going thru with her children I reached over and held her hand and if only for that split minute I really got a sense of belonging. We share our ups and downs in’s and outs and I'm so grateful that we found a place for people who are not only similar but who really do care about these children and that is priceless.  I'm lucky to be able to witness such selfless acts that Rosa Gordon’s organization provides to so many.” V. Estronza, Adoptive Parent

“I must say that this group has been a tremendous help to me and my family. This is one of the best things that has happened for foster parents – not only do we have an opportunity to share ideas, learn from experts as well as the opportunity to meet and bond with other foster parents. (We now know that we are not alone).

In April, the children I currently foster were blessed with another sibling. Mom wanted the children to be together and I was asked to take the new baby. I immediately said yes! With the help of another foster parent from the support group I was able to take care of the new baby and be at work as I was able to secure the daily assistance I needed from the group. Rosa, this group has been a blessing for all in the community and I do hope that it will continue to be a blessing years to come. Rosa thanks for all you do.” A. Wellington, Foster Parent
